One bank account, many outlets
A multi-outlet SME often has one current account and three managers asking “how did we do?” The statement cannot answer that. Opening and closing per outlet can.
Two products, two jobs
| Cashflow | Fund Treasury | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Money that moved (in / out) | Balances at the start and end of a period |
| You enter | Sales, rent, salary, supplies… | Opening and closing per outlet |
| Subscription | Paid catalog product | Paid catalog product (Starter / Standard) |
Do not re-enter the same sale in Treasury. Movements belong in Cashflow. Treasury only stores balances — see Fund Treasury.
The boundary that clears the confusion
- Bank statement = one number for the legal entity.
- Outlet closing = what that branch “held” for the day or month, even when cash physically sits in the same account.
- Cashflow net = inflow − outflow for that outlet in the period.
When Cashflow is active, Treasury can suggest:
Closing = Opening + Cashflow net
That is not magic accounting. It is the same identity every bookkeeper uses — applied per outlet so Friday’s close does not require the owner to rebuild a spreadsheet.
A calm monthly rhythm
- Set opening balances per outlet when you start (or roll last closing forward).
- Keep posting day-to-day movement in Cashflow (Billing Desk online payments land automatically).
- At month-end, open Fund Treasury, switch Month view, use Check Cashflow for suggested closings, adjust if cash-in-hand differs, Save.
- Export CSV/PDF for the accountant. Next period’s opening is this period’s closing.
Who needs this immediately
- Two or more outlets sharing one bank account
- Workshops / plants where “location cash” matters more than a single till
- Owners who already use Cashflow and still reconcile outlets by WhatsApp
Treasury alone will not replace Cashflow. Together they separate position (balances) from flow (movement) — the same split capital managers use, translated for SME outlets.
If your bank password is shared but your outlet P&L is not, Fund Treasury is the product that makes the second conversation possible.
