Memberships that show up at the till
If the member has to remind the cashier “I have a package,” the membership product failed. The till should already know.
Why most SME memberships die
Salons and clinics sell annual cards on paper, then lose the list. Or they keep a Google Sheet the Saturday cashier never opens. The customer feels cheated; the owner feels the discount was “abused.” Both are symptoms of the same gap: the membership never lived where money is taken.
Oflync Membership closes that gap. Plans live in the Partner Portal; sale and discount happen on Billing Desk. Platform Starter / Standard already includes it — see Membership.
Three steps that matter
- Define a plan — discount %, duration (1–60 months), sale price. Deactivate old packages when you stop selling them; history stays, till behaviour stops.
- Sell at the till — select a Customer Registry customer, add the plan as a line, submit. Oflync issues a unique
MEM…code (one active membership per customer). Email sends a branded card with QR when email is on file. - Apply on the next visit — enter the code, or select the customer and let an applicable card auto-apply. The % hits services and products — not the membership sale line itself.
Recognition without awkward searching
Customer recognition QR (OFLYNC:CUST:…) speeds till lookup. Paste or scan it so the right person loads before you bill. Members feel known; cashiers stop guessing phone numbers.
Rules that keep the weekend calm
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| One active card per customer | Renew/replace on repurchase — no stacked mystery discounts |
| Deactivated plans do not apply | Old offers die cleanly without deleting history |
| Codes are till-native | No “check with the owner” loop on Saturday |
Who should start this week
- Salons with annual packages that currently live in WhatsApp
- Clinics / studios with member pricing
- Any outlet where the same customer returns monthly and expects a known discount
Pair Membership with Billing Desk (web or Desktop) and your Customer Registry. Appointments fill the chair; Membership makes the next visit worth more than a walk-in price.
A membership that shows up at the till is not a brochure. It is a habit your team can repeat without you in the room.
